Hello Lovers & friends,
April to us always feels like a threshold - and this year, even more so.
We’re about to turn 7 on May 1st. Seven years of Lover. We’ll celebrate properly (as we always do) a little later, but it’s one of those moments that makes you pause.
I started Lover at 24 - and while I find talking about age boring, I do feel incredibly grateful to that version of me for just going for it. Building something from scratch, fully bootstrapped, with no real roadmap. My first ever collaborations were with Nike and Polydor if you can believe it - a slightly surreal beginning for what Lover has become.
Now, at 31, I can honestly say I love my life and I love my work. There’s a real sense of purpose in it, every day, and that’s not something I take lightly. None of this happens without the people I get to do it with. To my incredible team - Kassandra, Mercedes, Henn, Jamila - you make Lover feel like a well-oiled machine. And of course, none of it means anything without the roster - the most talented, boundary-pushing group of people I could ask to represent.
This month has been a mix of momentum and behind-the-scenes building - the kind where a lot is happening, even if not all of it is visible yet. (New softwares, new website soon come, NDAs galore, as always.) Not to be all BIG THINGS COMING or whatever...

In other news, Leonie’s main account was deleted - completely, without warning - and with the help of the incredible Repro Uncensored, we were able to get her platform reinstated. A huge relief, but also an unwanted reminder of how quickly work, community, and income can disappear in this industry.
On that note, we’re watching developments around UK porn legislation very closely, and will keep you informed with updates as they occur. As always, we firmly support creator rights and autonomy. Because once you start legislating desire, it rarely stops where it claims to.
