LOVER LETTERS - ISSUE XVIII 💌
July Edition
July Edition — (almost) out-of-office. 🍑
Hello Lovers,
July. The heat, the out-of-office replies, the sense that the world is half-asleep and yet really, somehow, we’re busier than ever. August isn’t looking like the slowdown it usually does, which honestly, we’ll take.
Firstly, our hearts go out to Berlin after the attack on Pride weekend. A city that has given so much to queer culture and community - we’re thinking of you.
As always, the work continued this month. We also attended Creator Fest this month - and came away with a lot to say, which we’ve written up properly elsewhere [read here]. The short version: keynote after keynote described the future of the creator economy as long-term partnerships, creators as strategic partners rather than ad placements, trust as the core commercial asset. And we kept recognising it as our present, and something we’ve been doing for 4 years really. When paid advertising is closed to you — and for sexual wellness brands, it mostly is — a trusted human voice isn’t a tactic, it’s essentially the only route to market there is. Censorship, perversely, professionalised us early. The outsiders were ahead all along.
We also went to Parliament. Twice. See below. We’ll keep going.
Vex Ashley was featured in Plaster Magazine, which felt right and long overdue, and shot with Ozziline Mercedes again too (watch this space).
As always, thank you for being here. More soon.
Happy July, Lovers. 💘

Lover Goes to Parliament

We went to Parliament twice this month with a group of incredible powerhouses. Our first trip was to discuss with the MP Samantha Niblett how tech is failing creators in the sex space, a prerequisite to our second trip in the House of Commons for a round table directly with Meta. Whilst the lack of transparency we received in their answers was frustrating, we remain optimistic — and proud to be a part of these conversations!
Knude Society — sad to see you go!
Our friends at Knude Society are sadly closing — they've been brilliant and anyone in this industry, be it 5 minutes or 10 + years, make an impact. It’s sometimes very brutal to work in this space (albeit incredibly rewarding) and we'll miss them so much. Please go and buy their remaining stock while you still can, find here.
Upcoming Events
Lover Workshops at Wilderness Festival
Wilderness Festival | 30th July - 2nd Aug 2026
Poly Philia: Relationship Anarchy 101
What does it mean to be in a committed relationship? Why is romantic love perceived as a limited resource that you can only give to one person? Why are marriage and children typically reserved for romantic connections, and does it have to be this way? How can you customise your relationships with everyone around you and live a life that is tailored to your true and authentic desires?
Polyamory educator Leanne Yau aka PolyPhilia will explore these questions and more in this workshop on relationship anarchy and a deep-dive into the tenets of its manifesto, and how this political philosophy when applied to human relationships has the potential to deeply enrich people’s lives, no matter what relationship style you are in.

Miss May: Permission to Play Kink 101
Curious about kink but not sure where to start? Hosted by dominatrix Miss May, this beginner-friendly workshop introduces the foundations of BDSM through consent, communication, and body awareness. Together we’ll explore how to talk about boundaries, express needs, navigate pain safely, and support each other before, during, and after play. The session also offers a gentle introduction to power play dynamics, creative ways to incorporate everyday household items into kink, and practical tips to help spice up your sex life. Open to individuals and couples, and ideal for anyone wanting accessible tools for safer, more connected kink experiences.
